Well, it's Saturday night here in Fl. Still 82 outside at 9pm. Gotta love it. It's a beautiful night, windows open and a nice breeze. Not doing much, had friends over for dinner and we are now in watching the Nascar race.
Let's see, what's new? Well, Sunday it was hot, chance of rain....Monday it was hot, some sun...Tuesday it was hot, partly cloudy, chance of rain...Wednesday it was hot, partly sunny...Thursday hot, some clouds, oh oh, cold front coming in...downto the 80's...lol. Honestly, we simply love this weather.
Mike is back at work, of course he has to go back to the lousy shift just like last year,,noon to 8 or 9 but you gotta do what you gotta do. He is also working here at the park cleaning the clubhouse and what ever else they need. He can do it whenever he has time, he doesn't mind. what a guy huh?
Me? Well I'm busy too, you know, shopping, lunch and stuff...lol. No really, we are all fine. Roscoe is great, the people that came over tonight have a little girl dog that he loves to play with. He is his usual tired self right now, laying at my feet. He misses camp, as do we. What a wonderful summer we had....so many new friends. Not much planned, we are spending time hanging out at the pool but that's about it.
Thursday, Oct. 4th What a great day! We decided to go over to New Smyrna Beach for the afternoon. Called Margo and she was also excited about going. We got there and of course, it started pouring! We decided to go to Dunkin Donuts for an iced coffee and wait to see what happened. As you can see, it turned out to be a simply marvelous afternoon! Water temp is 81~ awesome. We did though have some adventure. Roscoe got into some stinging nettle. He was loaded with them. Everywhere. Margo and I set to work pulling them off from him while Mike went back to the van to get some scissors. He had so many we knew we would have to cut some off. While he was gone, a huge wave came up, all of a sudden Margo jumped up just in time to save the radio. We moved back and continued tending to poor little Roscoe. Mike came back with the scissors and after about an hour, we succeeded in getting all we could find off him. Shortly after that, a couple that was fishing a little ways down from us came up and said "Hey, did one of you lose a flip flop?" It was Mike's brand new Corona flip flops that he saved just for the beach. Of course, there was only one. While saving the radio, we never noticed the sandals floating away. Mike spent the next two hours (at least) looking for the missing shoe. No luck. When we left, Mike threw the remaining shoe in the trash. As we got closer to the parking lot, there was the other shoe sitting on a post. Someone had found it and put it there. Mike ran back to the trash, dug in and retrieved the missing flip flop. Regardless, we had a terrific time at the beach. The sun was shining and hot. What's not to like? Rest of evening was uneventful. Still pulling nettles off Roscoe though. Will talk later~ Love, Lynn
